Great Waters Program Law and Legal Definition
Great waters program (Program) is a federal program created by Congress in 1990. This Program makes the Environmental Protection Agency more directly responsible for protecting large bodies of fresh water and coastal waters from environmental harm caused by air pollution. The water bodies protected by the Program are the following:
1.Great Lakes,
2. Lake Champlain,
3. Chesapeake Bay, and
4.Certain other coastal waters.
