Grey-Collar Worker Law and Legal Definition
Grey-collar worker refers to an employee not classified as white or blue collar worker. It is a worker in an occupation that incorporates some of the elements of both blue- and white-collar jobs. It may also be completely different from white or blue collar jobs. Grey-collar worker often has degree from a community college in a particular field. Grey-collar worker may also have a specific skill set.
Few examples of grey collar jobs are health care, aged care, child care, food preparation and the catering industry and the like.
The term Grey-collar worker is also sometimes used to refer to those who work beyond the age of retirement.
