Haitian Divorce Law and Legal Definition
Divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage by a court of law, or any other competent body. Haitian divorce is a divorce obtained in Haiti by a mail order, or by the appearance of one spouse who does not have a Haitian domicile. To obtain a divorce in Haiti, the other spouse’s consent is not required. A divorce in Haiti does not mandate residency requirements. Haitian divorces are generally not recognized in the U.S.
