Half-Seal Law and Legal Definition
Half-seal refers to a seal used in the Court of Chancery. It is used for the sealing of commissions in the court of delegates upon any appeal. Court of delegates is a subordinate court to the court of Chancery. Half-seal was mainly used in ecclesiastical and maritime cases. However, the use of half-seal ended when the court of delegates was abolished in 1832.
