Hazardous Air Pollutants Law and Legal Definition
Hazardous air pollutants include such air pollutants which are not covered by ambient air quality standards but defined in the Clean Air Act. It includes pollutants that can be reasonably expected to cause or contribute to irreversible illness or death. Such pollutants include asbestos, beryllium, mercury, benzene, coke oven emissions, radionuclide, and vinyl chloride.
