Hearing Assignment Law and Legal Definition
A hearing assignment refers to an assignment from a Presiding Judge to a judge for conducting scheduled hearings at a specified hearing site on one or more specified date during a specified week. A hearing assignment shall include more than one hearing calendar and it shall include all or part of a hearing circuit, or parts of two or more hearing circuits. The support staff prepares a Hearing Assignments form each week. This form documents the hearing assignments to the judges in that State Hearing Division (SHD) unit.
