Heating Degree Days Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 440.3 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter D Energy Conservation; Part 440 Weatherization Assistance for Low-Income Persons], the term Heating Degree Days means “a population-weighted seasonal average of the climatological heating degree days for each weather station within a State, as determined by DOE (Department of Energy).”
