High School Graduate [Education] Law and Legal Definition
According to 34 CFR 654.5 (b) [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle B -- Regulations of the Offices of the Department of Education; Chapter VI -- Office of Postsecondary Education, Department of Education; Part 654 -- Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program; Subpart A – General], the term high school graduate means “an individual who has --
(i) A high school diploma;
(ii) A General Education Development (GED) Certificate; or
(iii) Any other evidence recognized by the State as the equivalent of a high school diploma.”
