Highly Qualified Paraprofessional [Education] Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 20 USCS § 6602 (4) [Title 20. Education; Chapter 70. Strengthening and Improvement of Elementary and Secondary Schools; Preparing, Training, and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals; Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting Fund], the term highly qualified paraprofessional means “a paraprofessional who has not less than 2 years of--
(A) experience in a classroom; and
(B) postsecondary education or demonstrated competence in a field or academic subject for which there is a significant shortage of qualified teachers.”
