Hired gun refers to an expert who is biased and does not appear to be impartial. S/he adapts his/her expert evidence to the requirements of the party that calls him/her as a witness. A hired gun expert is easily recognizable. The opinion of an expert who is too eager to please, too keen to produce a report that is helpful are hired.
