Home Law and Legal Definition
Generally home means a dwelling place. It is a shelter or a place of refuge providing safety from danger, attack, or observation. Home can have varied meanings depending on the context it is used.
Example of State Statutes ( New York) defining home.
NY CLS Gen Bus § 778 defines Home as an existing, previously occupied one or two-family dwelling intended to be used primarily as a residence, or a residential unit in a multi-unit structure in which title or shares of stock are transferred to buyers under a condominium or cooperative regime. It does not mean a mobile home as defined in section seven hundred twenty-one of this chapter.
NY CLS Labor § 350 says "Home" means a room or an apartment in any house.
