Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act Law and Legal Definition
Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act provides for provisions with regard to home improvement contract. Home improvement includes construction, replacement, installation or improvement of driveways, swimming pools, pool houses, porches, garages, roofs, or flooring of a house. The term does not include the construction of a new home.
The Act also provides consumer protection against home improvement fraud. A person commits the offense of home improvement fraud if, with intent to defraud or injure anyone or with knowledge that he is facilitating a fraud or injury to be perpetrated by anyone.
