Homeland Security Operations Center [HSOC] Law and Legal Definition
Homeland Security Operations Center (HSOC) is a syatem designed to increase the vertical coordination between federal, state, territorial, tribal, local, and private sector partners. HSOC is the nation’s nerve center for information sharing and domestic incident management. HSOC collects and fuses information daily from a variety of sources to help deter, detect, and prevent terrorist acts. The main functions of HSOC are:
a. to provide real-time situational awareness and monitoring of the homeland, coordinates incidents and response activities; and
b. to issue advisories and bulletins concerning threats to homeland security in conjunction with the DHS Office of Information Analysis.
