Homeland Security Preparedness Law and Legal Definition
Homeland security preparedness means a broad national program covering all homeland security systems involved in the planning of organizational, operational, and technical measures to deter threats or acts of terrorism. The organizational, operational, and technical measures involved in the homeland security preparedness are designed to reduce vulnerabilities, mitigate the effects of acts of terrorism, respond to threats and acts of terrorism, and to perform effective remediation and recovery efforts from terrorist attacks throughout the entire threat spectrum. It also aims to deter and prevent terrorist use of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive weapons of mass destruction.
