Human Life Amendment Law and Legal Definition
A human life amendment refers to a constitutional amendment establishing a legal definition of a person that includes unborn children. It makes killing of an unborn child a crime punishable under existing murder laws. Human life amendments include any amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would have the effect of overturning Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (U.S. 1973), the Supreme Court decision that denied states the authority to prohibit abortion.
