Hydrogeologic Unit [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 61.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 61 -- Licensing Requirements for Land Disposal of Radioactive Waste; Subpart A -- General Provisions], the term Hydrogeologic unit means “any soil or rock unit or zone which by virtue of its porosity or permeability, or lack thereof, has a distinct influence on the storage or movement of groundwater.”
