Immediate Transportation Entry Law and Legal Definition
Immediate transportation entry refers to a form of the U.S. Customs entry filed with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) allowing imported merchandise to be transported under bond to another port for customs clearance thereat. It allows for the movement of goods from the port of entry to another port without actual filing entry and paying duty and taxes or examination. Any merchandise, other than explosives and merchandise the importation of which is prohibited, arriving at a port of entry in the U.S. may be entered, under such rules and regulations as the Secretary of the Treasury may prescribe, for transportation in bond without appraisement to any other port of entry designated by the consignee, or his agent, and by such bonded carrier as s/he designates.
