Imperfect Defense Law and Legal Definition
Imperfect defense fails to meet all legal requirements and therefore results in a reduction of sentence or in grade. However, an imperfect defense shall not entitle a person to acquittal especially when a person is charged with manslaughter rather than murder, because the person used unreasonable force to repel the attack while defending another.
