Import Sensitive Producers Law and Legal Definition
Import sensitive producers refer to those domestic producers whose economic viability is threatened by competition from imported products. These producers face competition in quality, price or service. A product that is particularly susceptible to competition from imports from other country suppliers is generally known as import sensitive product. Import sensitive products generally receive longer phase-in periods for tariff reduction or elimination in trade agreements.
