In-Service Withdrawal [Administrative Personnel] Law and Legal Definition
According to 5 CFR 1650.1 [Title 5 -- Administrative Personnel; Chapter VI -- Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board; Part 1650 -- Methods of Withdrawing Funds From the Thrift Savings Plan; Subpart A – General], in-service withdrawal means “an age-based or financial hardship withdrawal from the TSP (Thrift Savings Plan) that may be available to a participant who has not yet separated from Government service.”
