Income Withholding Order Law and Legal Definition
Income Withholding Order is a court order to deduct child support or alimony payments from the wages of the person who is liable to make those payments. Generally all child support court orders contain an income withholding order unless both parents ask the judge not to issue an income withholding order. This is to ensure the payment of the support amount and alimony without any default. It is also called wage withholding.
