Independent Laboratory Law and Legal Definition
According to 30 CFR 6.2 (Title 30 - Mineral Resources; Chapter I - Mine Safety And Health Administration, Department Of Labor; Subchapter B - Testing, Evaluation, And Approval Of Mining Products; Part 6 - Testing And Evaluation By Independent Laboratories And Non-Msha Product Safety Standards), an independent laboratory means “a laboratory that:
(1) has been recognized by a laboratory accrediting organization to test and evaluate products to a product safety standard, and
(2) is free from commercial, financial, and other pressures that may influence the results of the testing and evaluation process.” (30 CFR 6.2)
