Indian Incentive Program [IIP] Law and Legal Definition
The Indian Incentive Program (IIP) is a program administrated by the Office of the Secretary of Defense Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Office, to allow government contractors to use their best efforts to give Indian organizations and Indian-owned economic enterprises the greatest opportunity to participate in subcontracts. IIP provides a 5 percent rebate on the total amount subcontracted to Indian organizations or Indian-owned economic enterprises. Pursuant to the FY 2002 Appropriations Act, $8 million is paid as incentive payments to prime contractors and small businesses that use Indian-owned businesses or enterprises as subcontractors at any level.
