Indicator Nutrient [Food and Drugs] Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 21 CFR 106.3 (a) [Title 21 Food and Drugs; Chapter I Food and Drug Administration, Department of Health and Human Services; Subchapter B Food for Human Consumption; Part 106 Infant Formula Quality Control Procedures; Subpart A General Provisions], Indicator Nutrient means “a nutrient whose concentration is measured during the manufacture of an infant formula to confirm complete addition and/or uniform distribution of a premix or other substance of which the indicator nutrient is a part.”
