Informal Subgroup Law and Legal Definition
According to 22 CFR 8.4 [Title 22; Foreign relations; Chapter I; Department of state; Subchapter A; General; Part 8; Advisory Committee Management], an informal subgroup or subcommittee is one that facilitates the activities of its advisory committee. For example, during a particular meeting, the advisory committee may divide itself into subgroups to permit simultaneous discussion of different topics.
