Information in Chancery Law and Legal Definition
Information in chancery is a bill in chancery filed on behalf of the crown. It is similar to a bill in equity, although distinguishable from an ordinary bill in equity in the regard that, since filed on behalf of the crown, all that was required was a statement of facts, it not being necessary for the crown to assume the position of a suitor or orator and pray for relief.
