Inquiry [Patents] Law and Legal Definition
According to 37 CFR 102.22 (4) [Title 37 -- Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights; Chapter I -- United States Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Commerce; Subchapter B – Administration; Part 102 -- Disclosure of Government Information; Subpart B -- Privacy Act], the term inquiry means “either a request for general information regarding the Act and this subpart or a request by an individual (or that individual's parent or guardian) that USPTO determine whether it has any record in a system of records which pertains to that individual.”
