Institution (Health Care) Law and Legal Definition
Institution in the context of health care means a facility that provides short term or long term care. For example, a nursing home, skilled nursing facility (SNF),or rehabilitation hospital are institutions that offers health care services. Assisted living facility provided through private residences facility and group home are not considered as institutions for the purpose of health care services.
