Institutionalized Individual [Education] Law and Legal Definition
According 34 CFR 460.4 [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle B -- Regulations of the Offices of the Department of Education; Chapter IV -- Office of Vocational and Adult Education, Department of Education; Part 460 -- Adult Education -- General Provisions], the term institutionalized individual means “an adult, as defined in the Adult Education Act, who is an inmate, patient, or resident of a correctional, medical, or special institution.”
