Insular Court Law and Legal Definition
Insular court means a federal court with jurisdiction over U.S. island territories, such as insular courts of Puerto Rico. Insular courts usually inquire into the merits of the alleged violations of the constitutional rights of the plaintiffs and try to preserve those rights unimpaired.
