Insured Law and Legal Definition
Insured is the person, group, or property for which an insurance policy is issued. An insured is contracted to receive insurance coverage from the Insurer whose actions are otherwise covered by an insurance policy. When insured parties experience a loss for a specified peril, the coverage entitles the policyholder to make a claim against the insurer for the covered amount of loss as specified by the policy.
