Intellectual giftedness denotes the possession of potential intellectual powers at a high productive and evaluative thinking. Intellectual ability in giftedness is significantly higher than average. A gifted child is naturally endowed with a high degree of general mental ability or extraordinary ability in a specific domain. Intellectual giftedness is different from a skill. Intellectual giftedness is usually believed to be innate. Personal aptitude for intellectual activities cannot be acquired through personal effort. Best indications of giftedness are usually provided by teachers and parents.
