Intensive Language Instruction [Education] Law and Legal Definition
According to 34 CFR 656.7 (e) [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle B -- Regulations of the Offices of the Department of Education; Chapter VI -- Office of Postsecondary Education, Department of Education; Part 656 -- National Resource Centers Program for Foreign Language and Area Studies or Foreign Language and International Studies; Subpart A – General], the term intensive language instruction means “instruction of at least five contact hours per week during the academic year or the equivalent of a full academic year of language instruction during the summer.”
