Interim Federal Specification Law and Legal Definition
According to 41 CFR 101-29.204 [Title 41 Public Contracts and Property Management; Subtitle C Federal Property Management Regulations System; Chapter 101 Federal Property Management Regulations; Subchapter E Supply and Procurement; Part 101-29 Federal Product Descriptions], interim Federal specification is a potential Federal specification issued in temporary form for optional use by all Federal agencies. Interim amendments to Federal Specifications and amendments to interim Federal specifications are included in this definition. These documents are issued or controlled by the General Services Administration and are listed in the GSA "Index of Federal Specifications, Standards and Commercial Item Descriptions."
