Intermodal System [Transportation Law] Law and Legal Definition
According to 23 CFR 500.703 [Title 23. Highways; Chapter I Federal Highway Administration, Department Of Transportation; Subchapter F Transportation Infrastructure Management; Part 500 Management And Monitoring Systems; Subpart G Intermodal Facilities And Systems Management System], ‘intermodal system’ means a transportation network consisting of public and private infrastructure for moving people and goods using various combinations of transportation modes.
