International Civil Aviation Organization Law and Legal Definition
International civil aviation organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency to the United Nations. ICAO codifies the principle and techniques of international air navigation and plans the development of international air transport to ensure safe and orderly growth. The headquarters is located in the Quartier International of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The constitution of ICAO is the Convention on International Civil Aviation. ICAO consists of an assembly, a council of limited membership with subordinate bodies and a secretariat.
