International River Law and Legal Definition
International River means a river that flows through or between two or more countries. The world's 261 international river basins, covering 45 percent of Earth's land surface excluding Antarctica, are shared by more than one nation. An international river raise the following questions:
a. whether each riparian state has full control of its own part of the river; or
b. whether control is limited because the river is useful or even necessary to other states.
