Intimate partner Violence Law and Legal Definition
Intimate partner violence is a violent act done by one partner against another. Intimate partner violence is usually done by an intimate male partner or a husband against a woman. Intimate partner violence can take many forms. They are:
1. physical harm;
2. sexual harm; and
3. psychological harm.
Intimate partner violence can be among heterosexual or same sex couple and does not require sexual intimacy.
