Investment Representative Law and Legal Definition
Investment representative is a person who is a full-time employee of a stock exchange's member firm. An investment representative should obtain a license based on successful completion of an examination testing background and knowledge of the securities business. The National Association of Securities Dealers administers the examination. Successful completion of the examination and continuing employment by a member firm allows the registered representative to buy and sell securities for a customer's account.
