IRAC Law and Legal Definition
IRAC is a mnemonic acronym used mostly by law students, their writing instructors and attorneys, especially as a method of answering legal questions. IRAC stands for issue, rule, application/analysis, and conclusion. It is one way to structure legal analysis. In IRAC, first the issue or legal question is stated, then the applicable law or rule is provided, next the facts are analyzed in the light of the law and finally a conclusion is formed for each issue.
