Joint and Several Note Law and Legal Definition
Joint and several note is a promissory note which is the note of all and of each of the makers as to its legal obligation between the parties to it.
A note written in the following form, namely: "I promise to pay A. B. or order," &c., and signed by two or more persons, is a joint and several promissory note. [Ladd v. Baker, 26 N.H. 76 (N.H. 1852)].
