Joint Rule Law and Legal Definition
Joint rule as used in parliamentary practice refers to a rule adopted by both houses of a bicameral legislature for the conduct of business or relations between them. It is a rule of proceeding adopted by the concurrent action of both branches of a legislative assembly. These rules may be regarding when they meet in joint session, or for other matters in which they share an interest. Joint session is the combined meeting of two legislative bodies to pursue a common agenda.
