Joint Suspension Law and Legal Definition
Joint suspension is where a judge imposes, but does not execute, a prison sentence. A sentence is imposed, but the execution of the sentence suspended. The sentence is suspended and the offender is on formal (supervised) probation. If there is any violation of probation, the prison sentence is then executed.
