Judex, A Quo /Ad Ouem Law and Legal Definition
Judex refers to the judge, one who declares the law or one who administers justice between the parties to a cause, when lawfully submitted to him. Judex also refers to the judicial power, or the court.
Judex A Quo is a judge from whom an appeal may be taken; a judge of a court below.
Judex Ad Ouem. is A judge to whom an appeal may be taken: a superior judge.
