Judgment Recovered Law and Legal Definition
Judgment recovered refers to a formal plea raised by a defendant in a suit. It is a plea to the effect that the plaintiff has already recovered the relief which s/he had sought in the suit.
Although considered as a sham plea, judgment recovered can be raised as an affirmative defense under Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. [ USCS Fed Rules Civ Proc R 8].
