Jure Law and Legal Definition
Jure is a Latin term evolved from Roman law. Jure means by right, under legal authority or by the authority of the law. Ipso jure means by the law itself: by the operation of law; in jure means in right, law, or justice; jure civilis means by the civil law; jure gentium means by the law of nations; jure representationis means by right of representation and jure uxoris means in right of a wife.
