Jus connubii is a Latin term. ‘Jus’ means right, law, and ‘connubii’ means of marriage. Jus connubii denotes the right to marry. It is a term used in Roman law. It includes the legal right to have a lawful marriage with a Roman citizen, and to have the legal rights that accompany a marriage between persons who have the lawful capacity to marry. It is also termed as connubium.
