Jus Representationis Law and Legal Definition
Jus representationis is the right of representation. It is the right by which an heir succeeds to the property of the deceased. When the descendants of a deceased person receive the same share or right in an estate that the deceased person would have received if living, inheritance of succession by right of representation in probate take place. Some times right of succession is defeated by jus representationis. By jus representationis, son of deceased’s eldest son can have preferential right to property over deceased’s younger sons.
