Juvenile holding facility refers to a physically secure facility, approved by the Department of Juvenile Justice. A juvenile holding facility is an entirely separate portion or wing of a building containing an adult jail, which provides total sight and sound separation between juvenile and adult facility spatial areas. Such a facility is staffed by sufficient certified juvenile facility staff to provide twenty-four (24) hours per day supervision.
