Juvenile Officer Law and Legal Definition
Juvenile officer means a juvenile court employee who carries out the court’s child welfare work under the direction of the judge. Usually an arrested minor is committed to the care of a juvenile officer. A juvenile officer is also called as a county agent. A juvenile officer shall be deemed to have performed his/her role properly under the following situations:
a. where the juvenile officer met the juvenile's mother and explained the reason for questioning the juvenile;
b. where the juvenile officer ensured that the juvenile was given and understood Miranda warnings; and
c. where the juvenile officer was present during the questioning of the juvenile.
